Support to Sarajevo Film Festival (SFF)

The first partnership between Switzerland and the Sarajevo Film Festival (SFF) dates back to 1996.

The Competition Programme – Documentary Film, which was established in 2006, has become an internationally recognized platform presenting films that offer reflections on people’s lives and on the state of human rights in the world. As part of this programme an award Heart of Sarajevo for the Best Documentary is given. Switzerland has been supporting this award in the amount of 4.000 Euros. 

In addition to this, Switzerland provides financial support to the regional project „Networks of the Festivals in the Adriatic region - Sustainability actions “, which gathers festivals from Croatia, Montenegro and Serbia. The project goal is to reduce the carbon footprint of the festivals by promoting sustainable means of transport, reducing waste and raising awareness.
